FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Salsa & Bachata Class FAQs
Got questions? We've got answers.
Do I really need a dance partner to join?
Absolutely not! The majority of our students come solo. We rotate partners throughout the class, which is actually the best way to learn. You'll practice with different people, develop versatile leading/following skills, and naturally build connections within our dance community.
I feel nervous joining alone - is that normal?
Completely. Most people walk in alone it's actually the norm, not the exception. Everyone in the beginner class is in the same boat, and the format rotates partners so you're never stuck standing on your own. By the end of the first session, you'll have spoken to most of the room.
I have two left feet. Can complete beginners really learn?
Yes! Everyone starts somewhere, and our beginner classes are specifically designed for people with zero dance experience. We break down every move step-by-step, and you'll be surprised how quickly you pick it up. Most students are dancing socially within their first month.
What are the current promotions for new students?
You can get a 20% discount if you come with a partner. Our best value is to buy 2 courses for £79. These promotions are designed to let you experience our teaching style and community risk-free.
How much does it cost after the promotions?
After your promotional classes, we offer flexible packages: single class drop-ins, 4-week session packages, and monthly unlimited options. Prices vary by package, but we focus on making dance accessible. Contact us for current pricing, or visit during open hours to discuss the best option for your goals and budget.
What's included in each class session?
Each class includes 45 minutes of structured instruction with a professional instructor. Dynamic classes combining technique, partnerwork, musicality and guided practice in a supportive environment.
Can I learn both Salsa and Bachata at the same time?
Definitely! In fact, we designed our schedule specifically for this. We pair Salsa and Bachata classes back-to-back at the same level (Monday-Thursday), so you can take both in one evening without any scheduling conflicts. Most of our students learn both dances simultaneously.
How do I know which level to start at?
If you've never danced Salsa or Bachata before, start with Beginner. If you have some experience, you can also attend your first class at any level to see if it fits.
What should I wear and bring?
Wear comfortable clothes you can move in. For shoes: smooth-soled shoes work best (dance shoes, dress shoes, or smooth sneakers). Avoid rubber-soled athletic shoes as they grip too much. Bring water and a positive attitude! That's all you need.
Is there an age limit?
Our classes are designed for adults 18+. We welcome all ages above that - from college students to retirees. Dance is truly ageless, and you'll find a diverse, welcoming community of all ages and backgrounds.
What does Bailarte offer on Sundays?
Sundays are special! We have two Open Level Class at 6:30 PM (all levels welcome), followed by our monthly Social Dance Party starting at 8 PM till 10PM. This is where the magic happens. You'll practice everything you learned that week, dance with students from all levels, and truly become part of the community.
How long before I can dance at a social event?
Most students feel comfortable social dancing after 4-6 weeks of consistent classes. Remember, everyone at social events was once a beginner too! Our Sunday socials are the perfect low-pressure environment to practice, and more experienced dancers love helping newcomers.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit/debit cards, and digital payments. You can pay per class, purchase session packages (best value), or sign up for monthly unlimited options. We'll work with you to find a payment plan that fits your budget.
